Try This DIY Pull-Through Braid For A Totally Easy And Super-Adorable ’Do

When my hair was long, I was constantly on the lookout for adorable new tricks to put it up and out of my way. That was especially important when the hot-weather months would hit me while living in the South. I experimented with a lot of different methods, but more often than not I would get lazy and toss it up into a bun. So I chopped it off, but after seeing this awesome tutorial, I'm ready for it to grow right back out again!

The simple technique provides you with a super-cute braided do that all your friends will think took you hours, but it really couldn't be easier. Trust me, this is coming from someone who can't even master an ordinary French braid without it ending in tears! All you need is some elastic hair ties and a little patience. You start by making a regular ponytail at your desired height. Once it's secure, separate it into top-and-bottom halves and secure another hair tie a few inches away from the base on the top layer.

Then, you'll just need to take that lower layer and pull it straight through the section you just tied off. And that's it! See, I told you — so easy! You'll just repeat that process until you get to the end of the braid. You can then either leave it as is, or you can gently tug on the sections to create a fuller look. You can even roll it up into a much more stylish bun than any plain topknot!
