His Son Goes To Run An Errand. But When He Returns, Dad Breaks Down For THIS Incredible Reason

When fans think of comedian D.L. Hughley, they probably remember The Original Kings of Comedy, where he performed some memorable standup with Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, and the late Bernie Mac.

However, during his interview on Oprah: Where Are They Now?, he stepped away from his comedic persona to share a heartwarming story about his son, Kyle.

When he was a child, Hughley's son was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, a condition that affects about 1 in 500 people. Like other people with with Asperger's, Kyle has trouble adjusting to just about any changes in his daily routine. But, at 26, the college graduate was able to step outside of his comfort zone and do something that shocked his father.

"He comes back in and he gives me the receipt and the keys," Hughley said. "And I could not stop crying, because he did something he was afraid to do… I just didn't believe he could do it. He did it."

The comedian's reaction while recalling the story at the :27 mark truly emphasizes how proud he was of his son. And, it's a moment that's relatable for many parents who have had to witness their children struggle with and eventually overcome a significant obstacle.
