Doctor Saves Mom’s Unborn Child, Now Watch Him Meet Baby For The First Time

About four months ago, Anna Weeber needed brain surgery for a ruptured aneurysm. She was 25 weeks pregnant at the time.

Anna was experiencing headaches for weeks, when one day she became completely paralyzed on the left side. Her husband Nate rushed her to the hospital.

If Anna died, odds are her baby would too. The Grand Rapids, Michigan, mother was treated by Dr. Justin Singer at the Spectrum Health hospital.

Anna knows that she owes so much to the surgeon who not only saved her, he also saved the life of her son Hudson. However, Singer never got a chance to meet the baby boy until very recently.

"We just have this bond, you know. We knew what we’ve been through together," Anna said of her neurosurgeon.

Even Singer admits that it's not normal for surgeons to feel connected to patients like this.

"Surgeons are not supposed to get emotional," he said. "It was incredibly gratifying. Seeing her being so healthy and beautiful and having a beautiful healthy baby a very short period of time after meeting them, when things could have been much different, is tremendous."

As the doctor's own wife was 24-weeks pregnant at the time, he says he treated Anna as if she'd been his own wife.

"I take care of my patients as they were my family members," the doctor said.

Anna will have to have CT scans over the next three to five years, but she and the baby are now doing well. See the amazing reunion below.
