Many pet owners who consider their furry friends family members can't bear to imagine the kind of cruelty some animals go through at the hands of neglectful owners.
Of course, it's not news that many dogs, cats, and other animals have to be rescued every day from deplorable conditions, but it still breaks our hearts that they don't get the care they need and deserve.
A young dog named Clyde is finally getting that attention and love after being saved from a desperate situation: he was carrying a six-pound tumor that hung from his chest.
The 1-year-old had been dropped off at the Gallatin County Animal Shelter and County Animal Hospital in Mason, Ohio, with instructions from the owner to euthanize him. The tumor looked to have been growing for at least six months.
The workers knew that he deserved a chance to live, so they did their best to safely remove the growth.
Thankfully, Clyde is alive and recovering! Scroll down to see the happy pup tumor-free!
