Doctors Are Forced To Remove Baby’s Intestines. 3 Years Later, He’s The Picture Of Health

Every time a baby is born, that baby's parents have one important question as soon as their bundle of joy comes out of Mommy's belly: "Is she (or he) OK?"

Hopefully the answer is yes. But unfortunately that's not always the case.

Sometimes there's nothing you can do to predict the possible medical problems that come up once a baby enters the world, but the hope is that doctors catch anything soon enough to get them treated and cured.

Thankfully, that's what happened with the Vasquez family.

Maribel and Pomposo Vasquez had their baby boy, Dorian, and everything seemed to be going as it should.

But only a few weeks after his birth, the doctors noticed he had blood in his stool and wasn't eating right. They ran some tests and realized that this beautiful baby boy had necrotizing enterocolitis. This disease is dangerous and does not allow the body to eat or take in nutrients properly.

His condition and surgery combined left him without three-quarters of his intestines, but thanks to UC Davis Children's Hospital and Dr. Kawatu, he has gotten through his scary entrance into the world.

This incredible story proves, once again, how incredible medicine and the medical services we have at our disposal are.

Little Dorian is now a normal 3-year-old boy, and you won't want to miss hearing his miracle story.
