This Clever Woman Created A Brilliant New Type Of Mason Jar Lid

Like most southern women, I'm a huge fan of the Mason jar. Call me a cliché, but whether they're old or new, cheap or antique, I can't get enough of these rustic little jars!

But it's not just their aesthetic that I love; where I'm from, Mason jars are household staples. From storing popcorn kernels to baking cherry pie, Mason jars have tons of incredible uses.

However, since their invention in 1858, these pretty little jars haven't undergone many changes. Aside from some differences in material and style, they've pretty much remained the same for nearly 160 years.

Well, that is, until this clever crafter came along! Eager to use her jars for more than simple storage, this crafty lady decided to invent something totally new.

Now, inspired by the beautiful wings of a dragonfly, she's made something that every Mason jar lover should own! I hope she gets this patented, because I've love to have a few of these!

Let us know what you think below, and please SHARE if you love Mason jars as much as I do!

Tired of her boring old storage methods, this avid Mason jar user decided it was time to revolutionize her standard jar lids.

Inspired by one of her favorite animals — the dragonfly — this crafty lady got to work.

First, she traced out her designs on a normal piece of cardboard.

She made a variety of shapes and patterns to accommodate the plans she had in mind.

Once the cardboard prototypes were done, she used a laser cutter to make them in acrylic form.

Finally, when her revolutionary lids were complete, it was time to place them in the jars and put them to work!

Her first acrylic lid didn't feature any holes; it was designed for easy viewing inside the jar.

The next one is a "four cell" lid, perfect for holding toothbrushes of all shapes and sizes.

The next — a "one cell" lid — is great for feeding string or yarn for easy crafting.

It also makes for an adorable drinking cup, complete with a cute, reusable straw.

The "multiple cell" lid makes for a delightful flower frog, perfect for separating stems and arranging bouquets.

But even without a full bouquet, it helps to make a beautiful centerpiece.

Her next lid — the "small, multiple cell lid" — makes for a great shaker. Parmesan cheese, peppercorns, spices — whatever you can think of!

It's also great for potpourri. Grab your favorite scent — she used lavender flowers — and freshen up any room.

Now, her Mason jars are more than just storage containers; they're multi-functional tools, perfect for anything you can think of.
