I associate the city of Dubai with some accurate things and some random things. When I think of Dubai I think of luxury and its beautiful architecture and Islamic influences.
I think about the gorgeous fireworks displays at "The Palm" and "The World." I fantasize about how there are no hotel clichés in the unique and affluent culture. I also think of the Sex and The City sequel where the foursome visits the country and, well, wackiness ensues in a sequence of over-the-top events.
The below video, titled Dubai Flow Motion, illuminates one man's trip to the decadent city in just a few minutes.
The cinematography and camerawork is fantastic, as the viewer goes from airplane aisle to cockpit to luxury hotel room to lavish boutique. Each stop sheds a new light on the city of Dubai and all of its beauty and majesty.
The creator of the video, Rob Whitworth, wrote: "My first impression of Dubai was that of super-tall buildings jutting out of the desert sand. However, after 3 months of exploration, research and filming, my lasting impression is of the eternal wonder of the desert and the importance it holds for the Emirati people."
After watching this video one thing is for sure: Dubai is a city one has to meet to truly get to know.
