Man Wonders Why He Always Has To Run To Bathroom, Then Doctors Find Huge ‘Egg’ On His Bladder

There have been some stunning medical discoveries over the years, but for 64-year-old Raymond Thompson, being a part of history came with a major shock.

Thompson grew up in Maryland and Washington, D.C., and for years, he always wondered why he had to use the bathroom so frequently.

"When I have to go to the bathroom at night, I have to run!" Thompson says in the video below.

For years, he never gave it a second thought — he just figured he had to use the bathroom a lot.

It wasn't until 2013, when he finally went to a doctor to find out exactly what was causing his inconvenience.

One ultrasound later, doctors made a shocking discovery: Thompson had a huge, egg-shaped mass pressing on his bladder. It is known as a peritoneal loose body, and it is the largest of its kind ever documented at nearly four inches long!

The mass started out as a small piece of fat that broke away and floated within the body. This in turn led the fat to turn into calcium, causing it to grow over time.

Doctors think Thompson may have had the mass growing inside him for years, perhaps even since childhood.

Luckily, the mass was surgically removed from Thompson's bladder, and in his words, he feels "blessed."

After they removed it from his body, he requested to keep it as a memento!
