According to National Geographic, Central Africa has lost an estimated 64% of its elephant population in the past decade. That's 100,000 elephants killed by poachers in just the last three years.
The amazing elephant is an integral part of Africa's ecosystem and we need to do anything and everything we can to save these wonderful creatures. We rarely see what actually happens when an elephant is hit by a poacher's poisoned arrow, as so many of these innocent animals can't be saved. However, in this video we see a truly incredible rescue of a young elephant, as veterinarians race against the clock to save him.
I'm so grateful that this elephant was saved, but there are still so many out there who need our help.
