Body Found In Memphis ID’ed As Kidnapped 34-Year-Old Mom And Teacher Eliza Fletcher

On Monday, a body was found during the investigation into the kidnapping of missing jogger Eliza Fletcher. Now authorities have revealed that it is the body of the 34-year-old mom and teacher.

Over the weekend, Memphis police arrested and charged a man in the kidnapping. Cleotha Abston, 38, was charged with kidnapping and tampering with evidence in the case.

Police say they have DNA evidence linking Abston to the scene of the kidnapping. Witnesses also revealed that he was seen scrubbing his car and washing his clothing after the abduction.

Of course, this devastating news is not the update Fletcher's loved ones were hoping for. Following identification of her body, police said additional charges were added against Abston. Those charges are for first-degree murder and first-degree murder in the perpetration of kidnapping.

A judge has set the accused's bond at $510,000. He has been appointed a public defender.

A cause of death has not yet been released.
