Nicole Bollerman, a third-grade teacher at UP Academy Dorchester, won $150,000 in a recent "Wish for Others" contest from Capital One. But she shocked everyone when she donated every cent back to her school. Her generosity caught the attention of many and led to her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she was in for a life-changing surprise.
In the video, DeGeneres reveals that Target will donate 700 backpacks full of school supplies. Plus, every student at UP Academy Dorchester will receive a $100 Target gift card and every teacher will receive a $500 gift card.
But the surprises didn't stop there: Bollerman received an aquarium full of Skittles — her preferred candy — and a check for $25,000! The charitable teacher was overwhelmed, shedding tears of joy. According to the Ellen Show blog, she'll be using the money to upgrade her car and put the rest towards earning a Master's in education.
It's so wonderful to see people recognized for their selfless acts of kindness. If you think DeGeneres is the best for giving back to these wonderful saints, please SHARE this story.
