If there's one thing we all know for sure about funny lady Ellen DeGeneres, it's that she sure loves to cut a rug whenever she can. In fact, she starts every episode off with a joyful dance before her monologue and first guest's arrival. She also takes the opportunity to invite plenty of other talented toe tappers to her stage, too. Whether it's a stunning professional, like ballet dancer Sergei Polunin, or the equally entertaining amateur stylings of Filipino youngster Balang, it's always a fun time for all.
After signing up for Groupon a few years ago — the app that gives you deals on products and services in your area — DeGeneres noticed an offer for belly dancing lessons. Obviously, she had to sign up for a lesson to expand her daily routine! She brought the instructor, who's decked out in the traditional beaded torso-baring outfit, into the studio for her first tutorial.
Of course, DeGeneres gets right into it, swaying her hips around before the woman can even give her any instructions! It's certainly not surprising that DeGeneres has a natural flair for the talent, imitating the "figure 8" shimmy with ease. She may be a tad goofier than the pro next to her, but she still makes it work.
However, when the instructor starts showing her the quicker belly-shaking moves, which cause the beads to shake like maracas, DeGeneres realizes she needs a little something extra to really seal the deal. After running off the stage, she returns with her own hilarious take on the sparkly two-piece!
