Ellen Gives This Heroic First Grade Teacher The Surprise Of Her Life!

If there's anyone who knows how to give credit where credit is due, it's Ellen DeGeneres!

I just love all that she does for all of the hardworking and well-deserving people out there who selflessly put others first. Of all the amazing people out there who deserve recognition, teachers are definitely near the top of the list. A lot of people just don't realize how much of their own personal time and money goes in to making their students' lives better.

Ellen has featured some pretty amazing teachers on her show in the past, but when she learned about hero educator Carlie Flanders of the Carroll County Public School System in Maryland, she knew she had to do something special for this inspiring young woman. Miss Flanders is a first grade teacher at Elmer Wolfe Elementary in Union Bridge, a school that sadly has a lot of students from low-income families and rough homes.

However, when Flanders' first graders step into her classroom, that all changes. She goes above and beyond to make her little ones feel happy and confident in the classroom, and as you can see, they are very well behaved, too! Flanders uses her own money to buy the kids lunches, school supplies, and things to make the classroom a better environment than home.

Thanks to Ellen's generosity, this amazing teacher can now make an even greater impact on her young students' lives.
