There never has been, and most likely never will be, someone quite like Elvis Presley. He took the world by storm for a reason — and it's something impossible to replicate.
From the shaking hips, to the slicked back hair, pouty lips, and that voice, he was one of a kind.
He made his TV debut back in 1956 with an incredible performance of "Shake, Rattle and Roll" on the CBS variety program Stage Show. It was this moment that had more traditional TV hosts insisting that they would never invite Presley on their own shows, which, of course, didn't stick. His talent and appeal were undeniable. Rejecting Elvis was rejecting popular culture at the time. I mean just look at those dance moves — there was no way to stop him!
And who could forget his other major hits. "Blue Suede Shoes", "Jailhouse Rock", and "Hound Dog" are just a few.
But hands down one of Presley's most tender songs is "Can't Help Falling In Love." There have been tons of covers, it's appeared in an insane amount of movies, and, I'm sure, more weddings than even imaginable. It's just that kind of song. And there's nothing quite like the original.
Presley first sang this song in the 1961 film Blue Hawaii, and there hasn't been a better version since.
