Emotional Officer Sings ‘Amazing Grace’ For A Fallen Colleague

Men and women risk a great deal when they put themselves in the line of fire as officers of the law. They don't just enforce the law, but live by it, and try to do good in their communities. This rookie officer was even so kind as to comfort a lost little boy in the hospital! They often go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the citizens of their communities are safe and happy.

But when these kindhearted officers are killed in the line of duty, it's a loss not just for his or her family, but for the entire force. Friends and colleagues mourn this death past the time of the funeral. But the best way to honor these brave people is to live in a way that exemplified their core values: goodness, compassion, and duty.

When Officer Danon Vaughn got up to sing "Amazing Grace" in remembrance of Detective Brad Lancaster at his funeral, it couldn't have been easy. The man's voice shook with emotion, and he fought back tears.

But his efforts were in vain, and he broke down in the middle of the song. The cop persevered and, with the help of two colleagues, finished the song in a beautiful way.

Watch the clip to see the heartbreaking performance the detective would have surely been proud of.
