It Looks Like An Ordinary Door, But Watch What Happens When He Touches It…WHOA!

Klemens Torggler's doors are kinetic art objects based on rotating squares. Dubbed the "EvolutionDoor," you're about to see a creative display of artistry. The special invention makes it possible to move the object sideways without the use of tracks.

Art and design blog "This Is Colossal" says the 4-panel entryway opens and closes in a surprisingly elegant way at the slightest touch, folding in on itself like pieces of paper. Torggler calls this system a “flip panel door,” that doesn't crush fingers or hands in the process.

The doors aren't meant to be used for practical reasons, as they're part of Klemens' artistic work. Most doors are custom made and one-offs — though I'd be more than happy to have one in every room of my house. This reminds me of the creativity found in the Italian space-saving furniture we've seen before, only the door is intended for art, not function.
