You wouldn’t be faulted for conjuring up images of delinquent teens when you hear the word cannabis. As legislators in states across the nation continue to fight for its legalization, a lot of misinformation about the plant has stigmatized its many benefits, such as treating chronic pain and inducing the desire to eat in cancer patients who struggle with nausea and loss of appetite.
But as weed continues to break its chains of prohibition, we’re learning more about its social benefits for mitigating anxiety, depression, and stress as well. Indeed, the reasons to smoke pot are many, though they're different for every user. From Cut Video, those cheeky filmmakers who brought us Grandmas Smoking Weed, a new video shows us what happens when ex-cops toke up. And while this isn’t their first weed rodeo, it certainly makes for some interesting dialogue.
One of the best parts of this video is when these former law enforcers are asked to count backwards — 82, from what I remember, isn’t the number that comes directly before 89. But the shining moment of clarity comes to us from the realization that there’s a world of understanding about pot we’ve yet to address. Just listen to what they have to say about weed as a “gateway drug.”
