Makeup has always been a huge part of the cultures. It's influenced by and influences many societal factors. Plus… it's just fun! Waking up in the morning and deciding exactly how you want to look that day gives you such a great opportunity to be creative.
Over the past 100 years in America, makeup trends have changed a lot. You may have never thought of this before, but there didn't used to be such a huge range of colors and products to choose from. There weren't thousands of eyeshadow shades to choose from, so women had to get creative with the few shades that were available. Plus, there weren't as many products meant for specific uses as there are today. Waterproof eyeliner in the '30s? Forget about it!
