Mom Can’t Find Child To Adopt, So She Posts Her Story On Facebook

Tina and her husband Rich Peterson realized that they would do anything they could to find the child they felt was destined to be theirs.

They wanted nothing more than to start a family and felt adoption was the best way to do so. However, the process wouldn't prove easy. Tina decided to use every resource she knew, so she made a Facebook page announcing that she and Rich were looking for a little one.

The response was stunning. Within hours she had hundreds of likes and messages on her page. After seven days, she got a message from a stranger.

They revealed that their aunt Patti Tazzioli was fostering a little boy. Tina met Lucian and instantly knew that he would be her son.

“It was like I had just given birth,” Tina said. “Like, oh, my God, here he is; he’s my baby. He’s my son. And I held him, and he fell asleep in my arms, and Patti was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, he doesn’t do that with everybody.’”

Just two months after she created the Facebook page, Tina was able to bring Lucian home, and he hasn't left since.

“I get chills just thinking about it again, because it’s like I created this page at the beginning of January, and by March 1, Lucian came home," she said. "And he’s never left, and I don’t want him to ever leave, not even when he’s old enough.”

Tina and Rich hope to meet Lucian's birth parents. He knows he is adopted, although he doesn't fully understand what it means yet. Some may give social media a bad reputation, but for Tina and Rich, it was the medium that brought them the greatest gift of their lives.

“We tell him every night that we’re glad that he’s a part of our family,” Tina said. “And he just goes, ‘Thank you, Mom!’”
