Make Classic Rice Krispies Treats Better With This Tasty Autumn Twist

As the temperatures begin to dip, there's nothing more cozy than staying in and warming up with a tasty meal or baked goods. I am already dreaming of fall food and treats that I can whip up in my kitchen.

Rice Krispies Treats are one of my favorite sweet snacks to dress up and get a little creative with. The classic treats are always a crowd-pleaser, but when you turn them into fall shapes — like maple leaves or pumpkins — it just really takes them up a notch.

The recipe is an easy and very kid-friendly recipe, great for any fall holiday. Plus, the treats look pretty and are a good-tasting dessert.

It’s a recipe kids and adults alike will love, and is easy enough to whip up for a snack or fall event.

Follow the step-by-step guide in the video to see how easy these are to make.

What you need:

Instructions:

  1. Follow instructions for making traditional Rice Krispies Treats. (Melt butter in large saucepan on low heat. Add marshmallows; cook until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring constantly.)

  2. Add in food coloring, using various fall colors like orange, red, brown.

  3. Mix in cereal.

  4. Spread out mixture onto a pan. Let cool 15 minutes.

To make the fall leaves, simply use a fall maple leaf cookie cutter to make the shapes.

To make the fall pumpkins:

  3. Use a small piece of green Fruit Roll-Up for a leaf.

Plus, the possibilities are endless as far as how to decorate them and what shapes to make.
