A few years back, a woman named Xuan Smith was volunteering at a pediatric clinic in Beaumont, TX. It was there she met Sarah, a one-year-old girl who was receiving treatment for club foot after being found alone in a bucket in a Belize village. Xuan and her husband Aaron fell in love with Sarah, and knew in their hearts they wanted to adopt her. So, over the course of the next six years, they fought a long legal battle to get the government of Belize to allow Sarah to give up her citizenship. In the touching video below, the Smiths can finally call Sarah their daughter.
Over the years, Sarah underwent a number of surgeries and orthotics on both her feet. Today, she's a happy, active, and energetic kid. To make her life complete, she was finally given the judge's approval to have the last name of Smith.
You can see the overwhelming love her mom and dad have for her. "She completes our family, a lot of kids do need a home and a family so be open minded and open your hearts and they can really complete your family," Xuan says.
Not only has Sarah gained parents, she now has a forever family made up of cousins, aunts, uncles, and grand-parents. Please SHARE this incredible story with your friends on Facebook!

It would take Xuan and her husband nearly seven years to finally be able to adopt Sarah… but they never gave up.

Today, Sarah is a happy and healthy girl who lives with her loving family in Beaumont, Texas.
