Dressing up for Halloween is so much fun. But once you have a family, doing family costumes makes the holiday even more enjoyable! I got in on the tradition as soon as I was expecting my first child. I dressed up as a cow (a very pregnant cow), and my husband was a farmer. It was udderly adorable.
Over the years, we've put together a few different family costumes. Now my kids are a bit older, however, and they like to come up with their own costume ideas. For me, the days of family costumes are probably in the past. But I still love to chuckle at the adorable ideas people come up with each year .
Of course, this year, I'll be admiring family costumes from a distance. But it's always a super-fun part of the holiday regardless. While these days plenty of people get super creative and put together their own looks, here are 10 costumes you can grab right off the shelf, and just like that, the whole family will be Halloween-ready !
1. The Avengers

For families who are into Marvel (and let's face it, who isn't??), there is almost no better costume than the Avengers. More than likely, everyone in your family has a favorite character, whether it's Black Widow, Nebula, or the Hulk. It's a super-fun and easy idea that each family member can get into!
Target has Avengers costumes in all sizes, too!
2. The Flintstones

Dressing as Flintstones characters only really works when the whole family dresses up! The Stone Age family never really goes out of style. But the best part about this look is that little ones look super cute as Bamm-Bamm and Pebbles!
3. The Addams Family

Another beloved family we can never get enough of is the Addams Family. They're goth, they're spunky, and they're always fun to become. Kids will love playing Wednesday and Pugsley. But Morticia and Gomez are great characters, too! Bonus points if you have someone who can be Uncle Fester!
4. Batman Characters

From Batman and Robin to the Joker and the lovable Harley Quinn, when it comes to Batman fans there's really no shortage of quality characters to love! There have been so many great Batman movies in recent years, too. So it's always fashionable to dress up as one for Halloween.
5. The Witches From 'Hocus Pocus'

We all love the witches from Hocus Pocus. Kids who are all about the movie will love dressing up as the Sanderson sisters! They'll have so much fun deciding who will be who. Of course, these costumes could work on adults, too, but three sister witches would be the perfect (and perfectly spooky) look for Halloween.
6. A Family of Vegetables

Movie characters are tons of fun to dress up as. But ya know? So is food! There are countless ways to be food this year, but if you're a family that loves to eat healthy, then definitely become a family of vegetables. There's no shortages of veggies to be — from corn on the cob to green beans to carrots!
7. 'Alice in Wonderland' Characters

Alice in Wonderland is a timeless classic. If it happens to be a family favorite as well, then dust off your Mad Hatter's hat and bring the whole gang to life this Halloween. Kids will love playing Alice or the Cheshire Cat, among others! And moms will always love being the Queen of Hearts.
8. A Group of Zombies

Kids these days are kind of obsessed with zombies. Appease your children and join them in a fun and frightful family costume idea by being a whole family of people risen from the dead! The costumes all look super different while all falling under the zombie category.
9. A Family of Skunks

A family of skunks is not only super cute, it's super cozy, too! It's kind of the ultimate first Halloween costume for a baby in that it won't be uncomfortable and everyone will oooh and aaah. I mean, that's the whole point of dressing your baby up in the first place, right?
10. A Family of Skeletons

A family of skeletons is fun and easy. It's also spooky! But this family is extra special because the costumes actually glow in the dark. No one will miss your family this year with these boo-worthy suits!
