Spending time with loved ones is always a good way to boost your mood. Whether you're with your friends or family, it's nice to show your appreciation for those closest to you.
The best kind of family time can be really simple, too. Some families like to go on outings to parks or museums, while others like to stay home and watch a movie or play games.
My favorite activity as a kid was going out for food — specifically ice cream. I absolutely loved going to the ice cream shop with my family.
I always liked seeing the other families out for ice cream as well; nobody ever has a bad time when they're eating ice cream with loved ones.
When Joyce Rhinehart brought her grandson out for soft serve one day, she saw a cute family sitting together and offered to take their picture. She snapped the photo, and they all went on their way.
A few days later, Joyce got a text from the father and found out that the picture she took was the last one they had of the family all together.

I have an incredible story to share. One that still sends chills through me and brought me to tears.
On June 8th I was at Rita’s Italian Ice with my grandson Blake treating him after his tennis lesson.
As we were about to leave, there was this sweet family all sitting together on one of the benches enjoying a custard cone.
Something urged me to ask them if I could take their picture which they did not hesitate to agree.
I took this picture below and then handed my phone to the young daughter and told her to go ahead and text the picture to their cell phone.
Left to take Blake home and explained to him how I have done this before when I see cute family moments of total strangers so they can have the memory.
Usually, I do this on vacation.
I know… I’m weird! But, wait till you hear the rest of the story. Today (Father’s day).
I'm sitting out on the patio with my phone when suddenly my text message alert goes off and it's just a number (no name attached).
This was the message::::::
"Dear madam, you took our picture in front of Rita's on June 8th. My wife has passed away yesterday and this is the last picture we have together as a family. Please accept my deepest gratitude for your kindness, it means the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Never under estimate a simple act of random kindness.
I corresponded back with him a few more times and found out his wife had been ill for the past year.
My ❤️ is heavy for this sweet family I don’t even know and the tremendous gift that was left to them cause I listened to my gut that day. I’m in awe!!
