Firefighter Gives His Shoes To A Barefoot Homeless Man

This is just the type of story that will restore your faith in humanity. Members of the City of Riverside Fire Department in California were heading back from training when they spotted a homeless man stumbling down the freeway. Upon closer look, they realized the man was not only limping, but he was also completely barefoot.

Firefighters David Gilstrap and Capt. Rob Gabler immediately pulled over their firetruck, but not before grabbing something out of the back. Gilstrap proceeded to follow behind the homeless man with an incredible gift in his hand. The Riverside Fire Department shared the selfless act of kindness on Facebook.

The crew immediately pulled over. Firefighter David Gilstrap caught up with the man and gave him his own pair of sneakers from the truck.

Gilstrap even helped put the shoes on the man's feet and gave him water. The photos of the kindhearted deed have been shared to Facebook and have since gone viral.
