An unsettling incident aboard an American Airlines flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Boston has left passengers and authorities reeling after a 14-year-old girl accused a flight attendant of attempting to record her in the bathroom. Here is another eye-opener, ladies and gentlemen, to be more aware of your surroundings at all times!
The accused, 37-year-old attendant Estes Carter Thompson III, reportedly approached the 14-year-old during the flight and requested to wash his hands before she entered the restroom. However, upon the girl’s departure from the restroom, she made a startling discovery: a hidden iPhone, discreetly taped to the airplane toilet seat.
The teenager promptly took a photo of the clandestine setup, revealing the presence of the hidden device adorned with large red stickers bearing the seemingly innocuous message “Seat Broken.” Shockingly, the camera lens and flash were clearly visible in the image.
According to the girl’s attorney, Paul Llewellyn, the flight attendant had redirected the girl to use the first-class restroom under the guise that it would be quicker. He stated, “She was waiting to use the economy restroom, and then the flight attendant came and got her and said, ‘Here come use the first-class restroom it will be quicker.’” Paul Llewellyn recounted the girl’s father confronting the flight attendant after learning of the incident, noting the flight attendant’s apparent discomfort and acknowledgment of being caught.
Estes Carter Thompson III now faces serious charges, including attempted sexual exploitation of children and possession of child pornography. Authorities say they have uncovered disturbing recordings involving four other young girls in airplane restrooms on Estes Carter’s iCloud account, raising significant concerns about potential further exploitation.
