Whether you're a seasoned world-traveler or absolutely terrified to fly, we can all agree that one of life's greatest frustrations is when you're stuck waiting at an airport for hours. Of course, it's even worse when you're stuck on a plane that refuses to take off.
I'm a pretty forgiving, reasonable person, so when I do experience massive delays, I make a concerted effort to keep my calm and not blame the dedicated flight attendants and jet bridge workers — they deal with enough stress as it is. Usually the delays are because of weather concerns and you can't blame anyone for the weather.
Yet, I can't tell you how often I've also been incredibly let down by the customers service provided by some of these corporate airlines. That's why I was so relieved, and even amused, by what Delta did for several of its stranded customers after they experienced massive weather-related delays.

When flights began to get delayed (including this flight to Buffalo), Delta provided all of the tired, frustrated travelers with free pizzas.

Terminals experienced massive pizza parties. The airline couldn't change the weather, but they worked to make the customer experience a little better.

When a flight to Atlanta was rerouted to Knoxville due to weather conditions, the customers had to stay on the plane for security purposes and TSA regulations.

Knowing the customers wouldn't be happy with this, the pilot himself ordered pizzas for the entire plane to enjoy while they sat on the tarmac.

Customers tweeted out strong responses in support of the company's decision to make the most out of an unfortunate situation.

And it seems to be a company-wide policy to help ease its customers' discomfort. After all, if one flight gets delayed, it means another flight will end up being delayed.

Next time I experience flight delays, I'm going to be looking for my free pizza.
