10-Year-Old Boy Thanks Veterans In A Powerful Way

Barbie Forbord Groome took a very touching photo of her 10-year-old son as he paid his respects to those buried at the Florida National Cemetery.

Like the American boy who stunned everyone with what he did in honor of the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion, Darren also showed his patriotism in a unique way.

In the Facebook photo, the boy raised his right hand high in the air while facing the tombstones. Since he has a hearing disability, he used sign language to tell the late veterans "I love you."

"He was in awe," his mother told Tampa Bay's FOX 13 of the trip to the cemetery, "And learned about who served and fight for our freedom."

The impressive United States National Cemetery, located near the city of Bushnell in Florida, covers over 500 acres. There are over 100,000 veterans buried there along with their dependents. Among the deceased are the boy's great uncle and great grandfather, both of whom served in World War II.

"He was shocked to see all the burials there and so many of them," Mrs. Groome added.

Many people were touched by the photo, including one Facebook user who wrote, "You've done well in your parenting, Barbie Forbord Groome. What a blessing."
