When He Opened The Door, I Was AMAZED To Discover This Wasn’t An Ordinary Wardrobe!

One of the many reasons I loved shows like The Flintstones and The Jetsons when I was a kid was because of all the cool stone and space age inventions inside their animated abodes. The Flintstones had an octopus dishwasher, warthog food disposal, and lobster lawnmower. The Jetsons had instant meal machines, robotic arms that brushed your teeth, and Rosie the robot maid.

I sincerely believe that many fans of the Tiny House Movement love the crusade of cute pint-size homes because, though petite, these mini-dwellings are packed with tons of innovations.

They have to be. In order for a structure to be considered a tiny house, it needs to be no more than 1,000 square feet. That means a designer needs to cleverly fit all the comforts of home in a very snug space — and fit they do! Many tiny houses have fun features like expandable walls, living rooms that fall from the ceiling, and in a post I did a few months back, someone gives a step-by-step tutorial on how they created a hidden underground bed.

It’s fascinating to see what kind of things these people come up with next, and Imgur user bmansk8s is no exception.

He shows us "handy"-capped individuals how to whip up a space-saving piece of furniture that can literally transform your bedroom forever.

Believe me, it’s pretty amazing to behold…

Like many brilliant home improvement projects, this one starts out with a bunch of wood. He used four cut sheets of plywood.

Next the edges were taped and he stained a few pieces for a cabinet.

Then he laid out the frame for the cabinet.

Once assembled, he placed the frame on the wall.

He then assembled a few rails. Why? It's a surprise!

Another frame was soon fashioned.

The cabinet face was put together.

Once it was ready, the face then received a nice, rich stain.

Now it’s time to add a mattress to the to the frame. Why?

The cabinet is complete. But — what’s inside?

A bed (this one with a kitty) is cleverly hidden inside a wardrobe. It's a great way to make use of a tiny space.
