High School Football Players Invite Fans From Local Nursing Home To Be Part Of Homecoming Parade

High school athletics and the school spirit that comes along with them are usually a big part of what bonds a community together.

Even if you aren't an athlete yourself, or are even related to one, fans are always encouraged to come along and join in the festivities alongside fellow residents and former students.

Homecoming gets underway this time of year, which is a great excuse for anyone to return to their old stomping grounds and relive their glory days.

More importantly, it's a chance for a community's young people to give back and to show their more sensitive sides, like when this high school football team from Alabama staged a touchdown for their team member with Down syndrome.

Another football team from Winner, South Dakota, also demonstrated their softer side. The team went to their local long-term care center to pick up elderly members so they too could participate in the homecoming parade.
