They Say It’s The Scariest Roller Coaster Ever. Would You Ride It?

You're seated with a bunch of other excited people in a tiny chain of cars, buckled in and secured by a padded bar or a shoulder harness. Your stomach begins to churn, but that's just a mixture of fear, excitement, and anticipation. As the cars begin to move, you hear the familiar clicking of the track below you, pulling you to your destination: a massive ascent that's about to drop you into the ride of your life.

If you've ever experienced the above sensations, then you know exactly what it's like to ride a roller coaster. The thrilling amusements have been around, in some form, since the 17th century, but they really came to be known around the world in their current form when Coney Island's The Cyclone opened in 1927. Since then, amusement parks all around the globe have been upping the ante of what roller coasters can do and, with this latest creation at a Charlotte, North Carolina amusement park, they may have maxed out the ride's potential with what people are calling "the scariest roller coaster ever."

In the below video, you'll get a first-person point of view glimpse at the very first test run of Carowinds' brand new roller coaster. Named Fury 325, the coaster will debut this coming spring, but this test run provides a fantastic look at what is now known as the world's tallest and fastest Giga Coaster.

According to Wikipedia, a Giga Coaster is "a type of roller coaster with a height or drop that ranges from 300 feet to 399 feet." Fury 325 reaches a height of 325 feet, making it the tallest of the world's five Giga Coasters (though not as tall as the two Strata Coasters in existence, Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point [420 feet] and Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure [456 feet]).

As the video reaches the 325-foot summit and falls into its 81-degree drop, the cars reach a stomach-turning 95 miles per hour. That's insane!

I could barely even make it through watching the video without being scared out of my wits, but thrill-seeking roller coaster fans will absolutely love Fury 325. If you're one of those people who love to be scared, book your trip to Charlotte, North Carolina now so you can be one of the first to ride this massive Giga Coaster when it opens in the spring!

Please SHARE this with all your friends and family. There's nothing better than a day at the amusement park with loved ones, but this thing is scary!
