Comedian Garry Shandling Dies At 66 Years Old

Comedian Garry Shandling, who was a very well-respected and beloved stand-up comedian best known for his hilarious work on It's Garry Shandling's Show and the HBO smash hit The Larry Sanders Show, has passed away at a Los Angeles hospital on Thursday.

The 66-year-old funnyman was reported not to have been suffering from any illnesses, and was even seen hanging out with his friends Kathy Griffin and Bob Odenkirk just a few days ago.

TMZ reports that Shandling was absolutely fine Thursday morning when he was suddenly struck by a massive heart attack that seemingly came out of nowhere. Medics attempted to save him, but sadly could do nothing.

Shandling leaves behind a legacy of edgy humor that thrusted him into the spotlight in the 1980s. He was always willing to push the boundaries, and while that rubbed some people the wrong way, he was certainly always willing to make fun of himself, make friends with anyone, and remain down-to-earth and approachable even in his fame.

As the family, friends, and fans of this man begin to come to terms with this loss, they can find solace in the knowledge that he gave so much to modern American comedy as we know it today, and paved the way for future comedians for generations to come.

It's always the funny guys who end up making the biggest changes in the world, and this guy might be gone, but he will never be forgotten!

Please remember the importance of good heart health. Shandling was only 66 years old, but it's never too early to get checked up as often as possible.
