When Gary Lichtman took his mom to a Detroit Tigers game, he was expecting a day full of baseball and cheer. That was exactly what he got, until it was time to leave.
Gary realized his wallet had disappeared and tried looking for it everywhere. Unfortunately, he had no luck in his search. Then a phone call from an Uber driver changed everything.
"I started making phone calls," Gary explains in the video below, posted on April 13, 2017. "American Express, Visa, you know, all the credit card companies, you know, knowing that this thing — I looked around the house, it just ain't coming back, including all of the things inside it."
Gary searched as far and wide as he could, but when his assistant got a phone call from an Uber driver named Raj, he realized he might be in luck. Gary spoke to Raj and the noble stranger told him he'd found his wallet and that all his cash and gift cards were still inside.
Raj even apologized for going through the wallet to see that it was untouched and Gary was floored. How could someone be so thoughtful?
Next, Raj went above and beyond. Aside from making sure the wallet was safe and full, he asked to meet Gary and hand-delivered the wallet. Gary took a selfie with the kind Uber driver, just in case nobody would believe his incredible story.
Now, Gary and Raj are fast friends and they will be attending a few games at Detroit Mercy, where Gary works.
Not only did Gary get his wallet back intact, but he also found a new friend in Raj. To see their selfie, check out the video below.
