A gas station clerk acted on instinct and ended up saving a doctor from a criminal during his overnight shift.
Manveer Komer became suspicious when he saw a man and woman walk into the convenience store of the Philadelphia Exxon gas station.
First they unsuccessfully attempted to take out money from the ATM and then walked over to the counter where the male criminal purchased cigarettes.
Komer felt something wasn’t right because of the woman's demeanor. He told Philly.com that she was "nervous" and "shaking."
The brave man was right. The 40-year-old man carjacked the 28-year-old and was forcing her to withdraw money from ATMs around the neighborhood.
The clerk halted the woman from leaving the store and then confronted the man outside. The surveillance video caught the entire incident, just like the time a Marine veteran took down a store robber.
“You come behind my back. I help you. No problem,” Komer recalled telling the woman in the ABC News video below.
The criminal jumped in her car and sped off. But, he was caught shortly after because he used the woman’s cellphone.
"I wasn't worried about my safety," the 25-year-old clerk also told Philly.com. "I was worried about my customers; they are all my brothers and sisters."
