How do you react when the TV turns to static?
If you've ever seen the 2002 horror movie The Ring, you probably freak out. I know I do.
The Ring is easily one of the scariest horror movies to come out of the early 2000s. It's where the now iconic "seven days" creepy whisper originated, and it's haunted the nightmares of horror movie fans for 15 years.
Of course, the scariest part of The Ring is Samara, the creepy little girl who crawls out of static TVs to ruin everyone's lives.
In the movie, Samara is easily one of the creepiest little girls you'll ever see. Her long, stringy black hair covers her entire face, and her iconic walk is guaranteed to give you nightmares.
But in real life, the girl who played Samara wasn't creepy at all — and now that she's all grown up, she's totally normal.

If you've ever sat through a terrifying screening of The Ring, you know just how frightening Samara is.
With her face covered by stringy black hair, her tattered nightgown, and her scary whisper of "seven days," Samara is no doubt one of the scariest characters Hollywood has ever concocted.
Not to mention, the fact that she could climb out of a TV set and into the real world was about as terrifying as a horror movie could get.
Despite how scary Samara made the movie, though, the actress who played her is totally cool in real life.
Now 27, Daveigh Chase was just 12 when she starred in The Ring.
But The Ring wasn't even Daveigh's big break. She voiced lead character Lilo in the Disney classic Lilo & Stitch earlier that year.
The Ring and Lilo & Stitch couldn't have been more different, which really goes to show how strong Daveigh's acting is!
Looking at Daveigh today, you would never be able to guess that she starred as one of the early 2000s scariest nightmares.
From her Instagram, it looks like Daveigh loves cats and lives in sunny Los Angeles, two totally un-creepy things!
