12-Year-Old Adopted Girl Is On A Mission To Save Homeless Babies

Lilly is a happy, healthy 12-year-old with a loving, supportive family — but life wasn't always so nice and normal for the girl from California.

Lilly's mother, Lynette, gave birth to her while she was living at a homeless shelter. That's where Lilly spent the first couple years of her life. Shortly after Lynette was able to get back on her feet, however, she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.

Once Lynette learned she was sick, she could only think of one thing: her young daughter. So, Lynette turned to a married couple who spent time volunteering in the church nursery. She presented the Thompsons with a life-changing question to which they agreed. When Lynette died, the Thompsons made good on their promise and adopted Lilly into their family, despite the fact they already had eight kids.

The more Lilly has learned about her trying past, the more she has wanted to give back to the homeless shelter that helped raise her. This incredible little girl is taking a special mission to provide homeless babies with things like bottles, toys, books, and clothes.
