It's extremely important for a person to feel like they can pursue their dreams, no matter what obstacles that are out of their control come along.
Take this young woman with Down syndrome, for example, who kept getting turned away from her dream job. But instead of walking away defeated, she turned the negative into a positive!
In Oklahoma, the Norman High School girl's basketball team was winning by 22 points, and you could feel the energy in the room absolutely explode.
Everyone started to chant “We want Lainey! We want Lainey!” referring to one of the basketball players, Lainey Fredrickson, who has special needs.
The coach told Lainey to jump into the action. She was absolutely thrilled to do so, as everyone could tell when she started walking to her position, waving and jumping for joy.
Lainey stayed in her position on the court, and the ball just happened to not come her way — until the basketball was handed over by one of her teammates.
Everyone cheered Lainey on as she stood in front of the hoop, making several attempts to shoot the ball through. Then, all of a sudden, she was successful — and the entire room responded in the best way possible!
