Drunk Woman Refuses To Get Off Tracks, Then He Sees The Train Coming

Two Weber County, Utah, men are being applauded for what they did when they happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Jon Smith and Colton Clark were driving past railroad tracks at 1 a.m. They noticed a car stuck on the tracks with a woman in the driver's seat — she was clearly intoxicated.

“Seen her parked here, her head was on the steering wheel, so we're like, ‘That's kind of out of place,’” Jon recalled.

The car's tire was stuck in a hole in the tracks, but the woman refused to get out of her car. Colton looked down the tracks and noticed the unthinkable: A train was fast approaching. They had to act.

“Just grabbed her arm, 'Get out of the car, just go,'” Clark said.

They pulled her out of the vehicle and the train barreled by, smashing into her automobile. It was horrifying.

“I still kind of hear the crunch, and I guess just the panic of it all just going through my mind a bunch of times,” Jon said.

The car spun several times over and pieces of it scattered along the tracks.

“They were just in the right place at the right time, for them to show up — definitely, probably saved her life,” said Sgt. Matt Jensen of the county sheriff's office.

The woman's blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit, but thanks to these young men, she lived to see another day.
