The bond between grandmother and granddaughter is so unbelievably special and important. Some of my fondest memories are of my beautiful grandmother, and I wouldn't trade them for the world. That's why this video struck me so much.
70-year-old Sharon Thompson was in the hospital in Texas, recovering from a bone marrow transplant and brain surgery. Sharon, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, was in her hospital bed watching a live feed of her beloved granddaughter, Taylor, as she graduated from her high school in Cody, Wyoming.
You can imagine how heartbroken Sharon was to learn she couldn't attend her beloved granddaughter's high school graduation. Little did she know, a huge surprise was in store… because just as Sharon prepares to watch Taylor walk across the stage and accept her diploma, an announcement is made over the speakers: "The next graduate is not here this evening because she has a surprise for someone special in her life. Her grandmother has been battling cancer this past year and can't be at graduation, so she is watching the ceremony live over the internet right now."
