TX Grandfather, Grandkids Riding In Golf Cart On Vacation Die When SUV Slams Into Them

A horrifying accident in Texas has left four people dead.

Police say that four people were killed over the weekend when an SUV collided with a truck, then a golf cart that was carrying six people. The four people killed were a grandfather, two of his grandchildren, and a niece.

The grandfather, who was driving the golf cart, was found dead at the scene.

The family had been visiting Galveston for a quick vacation before school began, police said.

The driver, who is accused of being intoxicated at the time, reportedly ran a stop sign before crashing into a pickup truck. Then truck then slammed into the golf cart.

The victims have been identified as Felipe Bentancur, 49; his niece, Destiny Uvalle, 25; and two grandchildren, 4-year-old Kaisyn Bentancur and 14-year-old Brailyn Cantu.

The two survivors of the crash were critically injured.

The driver of the SUV has been identified as 45-year-old Miguel Espinoza. He has since been charged with four counts of intoxication manslaughter. He remains jailed on a $400,000 bond.
