What would YOU do if you saw a vehicle up in flames and knew someone was inside, teetering on the brink of death?
It can be a difficult decision — should you risk your own life for a stranger, or wait until the professionals show up? Yet, for this 70-year-old Target employee, it was an easy one.
Rosemary Carrea was working in the store when she noticed a crowd gathering outside a burning van in the Target parking lot and heard screaming that someone was trapped inside. Without hesitation, the five-time grandmother's instincts kicked in and she rushed to the van to help pull a wheelchair-bound man out of the flames.
Carrea was able to pull the man out from the van and, although he had to be air-lifted to a hospital to treat his severe burns, USA TODAY reports in the video below that he is expected to live.
Despite her old age and arthritis, Carrea miraculously came away from the unbelievable incident unharmed. She says the rescue was some sort of divine intervention, but spectators say the man would have never made it without her rushing in to help.
