Minutes before midnight on New Year's Eve, 28-year-old Giancarlo Murisciano wasn't sipping champagne or celebrating with friends. Instead, he was at home caring for his beloved grandmother who has Alzheimer's disease.
Murisciano posted a picture on his Facebook page of him holding his 87-year-old grandmother Antonia in his arms, and it's the most beautiful and heartbreaking moment.
"So this is love. The 31st of December wasn't the highlight of my life, but this is also part of it. Once you kept me in your lap, granny, now I do the same, without shame and without fear, to remind everyone that life must be lived and must be fought… You always have to be present in life. That is my wish for 2015, having someone beside me to protect and comfort, but also to keep happy and smile with," he posted on Facebook.
His grandmother's condition is very bad, and she often doesn't even recognize her grandson. But his devotion to her is incredible.
