Most people have an incredible amount of sympathy when it comes to animals. You never want to see an animal of any kind hurt, or in need of your help, but sometimes there is nothing that you can personally do without putting yourself in danger.
When you find yourself stuck in a situation like this, where you feel helpless, the only thing to give you piece of mind is knowing that there is always someone you can call.
When a groundskeeper at a local junior high walked out on the the soccer field one morning as he was doing routine maintenance, he immediately saw that the soccer net seems to be moving. Upon closer inspection, he realized that he had a big issue on his hands, but didn't quite know how to fix it.
Luckily, Gates Wildlife Control knew just what to do, sending someone out to the school right away to attempt to rescue what turned out to be a very rare great horned owl, similar to the one who has become somewhat of a local celebrity in his town, known for landing on top of visitors' heads.
As he cuts away the ropes that have tangled themselves around this owl's wings and feet, the owl begins to work himself loose as well. When asked if these kinds of rescues can be dangerous, the rescuer tells people that because these animals are so smart, they actually realize that they are being helped. That may explain why the owl looks back to say "thanks" before flying off!
