On his wedding day, Brandon McCray wanted his mother to be there more than anything. But since his mom had been bedridden for almost two years battling scoliosis, he was prepared for her to miss out as he wed longtime fiancée, Jade.
"Her exact words were she was going to be very upset because all she dreamed about was seeing me walk down the aisle with Jade and it was killing her inside," Brandon told Fox 29.
Yet, the Philadelphia groom had no idea that his mom, Mary O’Neill, would indeed share the special day with him thanks to his loving fiancée and caring groomsmen. They paid $1,200 so that an ambulance could wheel Mary into the ceremony.
Brandon's reaction to seeing his mother enter the room proves that it was money well spent. The moment, reminiscent to the groom who lost it after hearing his mom's voice, left guests just as emotional.
“In the 16 years that I’ve done weddings, I’ve never seen a more emotional moment than what I experienced when the groomsmen wheeled in his mom. You do so many weddings and there are times when you do get emotional. But everyone in the room was crying. I mean I was even crying,” wedding videographer Fred Tamarri told the news station.
