There aren't too many movie stars today that will openly express their faith to the public. Being religious has become somewhat taboo in today's day and age, especially with the younger crowds.
Chris Pratt, known as the star of Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, and also for his hilarious character on Parks and Recreation, is an exception to this rule.
Pratt's been known to post religious content on his Facebook and other social media accounts. He never shoves it in anyone's face, or speaks of it in a way that's off-putting or preachy; he simply isn't afraid to be the person he truly is, or to show that to the whole world.
In 2012, when his wife, Anna Farris, prematurely gave birth to their son, Jack, he felt a restored faith in his religion. Not that he had ever strayed, but this scary moment in life was a reminder of how much he needed his faith.
This Easter, Pratt and a few of his buddies decided to do something really big in honor of their faith.
First, they picked out the perfect, picturesque spot on the land to feature their hard work. Chris Pratt points to this spot in the distance, right on the skyline on the top of a large hill.
Next, he and his friends all took turns carrying their cross to its final destination. I'm not sure how much it weighs, but I'm sure that this was so small feat!
No shame in taking a quick break after hauling the cross so far before securing it in the Earth.
Next up, they had to dig the hole to anchor the cross in the ground. Looks like this dirt is full of big rocks, and I bet this took quite a while in and of itself.
And… up it goes!
To make sure it never falls down, they cemented it in place and bolstered it with some of the rocks from the area.
Once they were all finished, they took a moment to celebrate all of their hard work on this Easter Sunday! What a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday. The cross isn't anything fancy, but it sure is massive, and it will be a nice addition to the landscape, even from a far-off distance.
