Bikers are often misunderstood. From the rough-and-tough exteriors to the loud, intimidating motorcycle, many people assume the worst when they see a biker. But the men and women you're about to meet have better hearts than most.
Guardians of the Children is a motorcycle club with chapters across the country, working to create a safer environment for abused and neglected kids. According to the organization's website, its members share a common goal; they enjoy the open road on their iron horses and are here to convey an important message; ‘We stand as one prepared to protect this priceless resource.’
Rick says his daughter was bullied on a daily basis. Her classmates called her fat and ugly. She was scared to go to school. Anyone who has experienced bullying knows the lasting impact it can leave, especially on a young person.
In the touching video below, the Guardians in Rick's town come together to escort his daughter to and from school. They gave her her own biker gear as she bravely pulled up to her class on a motorcycle. The Guardians provided her with the comfort in knowing she was not alone, and that if they had anything to do with it, the bullying would cease that very day; I have a feeling it did.
Mom and Dad stood guard inside the house, excited and nervous for their daughter as they watched from the window. It's a simple yet powerful gesture that Rick and his family will never forget.
