Hailey Dawson, a 7-year-old girl born with a rare condition, had some lofty goals in life. One stood out in particular: Hailey wished to one day throw the ceremonial first pitch in every Major League Baseball stadium.
What makes this so special is that the rare condition, known as Poland's syndrome, caused Hailey to be born without three fingers on her right hand.
"She has no fear. When she waves, she waves with her little hand. When kids want to hold her hand, that's the hand she pulls out," said Yong Dawson, Hailey's mom, to SportTechie. "She has no care about what other people think."
According to SportTechie, scientists at UNLV constructed multiple 3D-printed hands for Hailey to wear.
The hand allows her to do something she truly loves: throwing a baseball. That renewed ability has also allowed the young girl to try to achieve her dream of throwing out the first pitch at every stadium.
Recently, Bleacher Report posted a video of her story and her dream on Twitter — and the response was enormous!

Meet 7-year-old Hailey Dawson, a young girl born with a rare condition that resulted in her losing the three middle fingers of her right hand — something her mom, Yong, says is an obstacle that Hailey will never let stand in the way of her dreams.
Scientists at UNLV built multiple 3D-printed hands for Hailey. She has been all around the nation, getting some famous friends to sign the hand (including MLB stars Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant, pictured above).
She even met pop icon Ricky Martin and got his signature on her hand, too!
Recently, Hailey's story was made into a video by Bleacher Report and posted to their Twitter, where the world got to hear Hailey's goal: to pitch in every MLB stadium.
And the response was enormous — especially from the teams themselves!
Teams like the New York Mets came out in support of Hailey, inviting her to get in touch with the organization.
The Oakland Athletics were big fans of Hailey's goal, quickly inviting her to reach out to them to "set something up."
Each team's response was met with great support from the fans, like the Seattle Mariners' reply to Hailey in the photo above.
Many teams and fans alike came out in support of Hailey. We hope she's able to accomplish her goal, and hope that her story of strength, bravery, and perseverance in the face of obstacles inspires everyone!
