Gary Yost is a man with a theory. The director of this video strongly believes that "The soul and heart can come through despite any costume we wear." To prove this, he enlisted the help of a 7-foot-tall clown with a remarkable talent.
Meet Puddles Pity Party. Michael Geier created his alter-ego, Puddles, back in 1999 for an all-clown band, but he quickly became known for his solo performances. Puddles is known to many as the clown with the golden voice – and once you see this video, you'll understand why.
The 7-foot-tall clown put on a very emotional performance of Leonard Cohen's beautiful song, "Hallelujah, and since the song is haunting on it's own, I expected it to be even more so coming from a clown. However, I believe Yost's theory is the complete truth. Despite being dressed in full clown-attire, you can see the heart and soul of a man shining through.
What a chilling performance! Did you enjoy the voice shining through the costume?
