Hamsters Eat This Way All The Time But I’ve NEVER Seen It Look Like This. OMG!!

It's somewhat surprising that the diminutive hamster has become so exceedingly popular as a household pet. While there are plenty of folks out there that keep mice (or even rats) as pets, there are also a lot of people that consider those guys vermin, so how did the hamster become such a cute, cuddly, family-friendly rodent? They're all in the same family, of course.

We may never know the true answer to that question, but I might point to the fact that hamsters are just so darned adorable. Their furry little bodies and their puffy cheeks and tiny, clawed feet. What's not to love, right? Well, cleaning the cage, maybe…but that's a story for another day.

Speaking of their cheeks, we all probably know that hamsters love to store their food in their cheeks. They'll pack in nuts, small fruits, vegetables, and pretty much anything else from their little hamster diets. Then they'll scurry back to their bed with their cheeks all puffed out, drop the food off, and enjoy it at their leisure.

But how do they pack so much food in there? Surely you've tried stuffing as many marshmallows as you can in your mouth, right? We all did it as kids. But once we've reached capacity, there's no way to stuff anymore in. For hamsters, though, it sometimes seems like their cheek pouches are never ending!

In this video, you'll get a chance to finally see just how the hamster stuffs all that food in its adorable little cheeks. Narrated by Doctor Who actor David Tennant, we get to watch as a hamster stuffs his cheeks full of food before climbing up a tube and back to his bed.

The coolest thing about the video, however, is the fact that at one point we get an X-ray view of the hamster stuffing its cheeks. This is so neat! The X-ray view gives us the opportunity to see that a hamster's cheek pouches actually extend all the way past its shoulders and down to its hips. No wonder they can pack it all in!

Oh, and, we wouldn't blame you if you watched this video over and over again. We did. It's just so darned cute!
