Patrick Haskins made this touching tribute to his wife. The couple spent six years trying to conceive. The process was a heartbreaking struggle of disappointment and bad leads.
Then finally, like the Arkell family who took 17 years to conceive, Patrick's wife became pregnant. Patrick documented his wife's tumultuous journey until her prayers were finally answered.
When IVF didn't work for the couple, they decided to adopt but that didn't go quite as planned either.
"We were matched up with a biological mother and that one fell through. We didn't have any explanation of what happened… We just never heard anything," she says. "Waiting and waiting was just very difficult. Not knowing what was going on…"
The pair decided to stop the adoption process and attempt to try IVF again. When asked if she ever considered giving up on having a child, she answers declaratively: No.
"There was something inside us that told us to keep going and not to give up. I don't know how to explain it but I just had that drive to keep trying," she says.
Eventually, after six years of trying any means necessary, Patrick's wife became pregnant with quadruplets.
