Talk about going out with a bang!
Unless you missed it, it's pretty impossible to forget your high school graduation day. After four long years of school, it's a bittersweet time, but I will always remember it being the most exciting day of my entire academic career. While every student has their own special memories, the group of seniors in this next video made certain that their big day would not be forgotten anytime soon.
Just like with this class, whose high school commencement ceremony took an unexpected turn, a video of Kahuku High and Intermediate School in Hawaii senior class' graduation has gone viral…and for the very best reason! Here at LittleThings, we've seen our fair share of amazing flash mobs and choreographed routines, this one being one of my all-time favorites, but I've never seen anything like this performance from these North Shore, Oahu-based students.
As you can see in the clip, which has hit more than one million views since it was posted on YouTube just three days before publishing, we see the culturally diverse students surprise their loved ones with a performance that included everything from the Jackson 5's "ABC" to Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off," and, of course, Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk."
However, the highlight of the more than nine-minute performance has to the 8:43 mark, when the students do the Kaipahua Kura, their very own "Haka," a traditional war dance from the Maori people of New Zealand. It's pretty hard to believe that these students put together this amazing routine in just two days, but that just goest to show how much school spirit and love they have for one another.
